Lake District Hotels and Guest Houses in Howgills:

This is a small group of fells bordering Cumbria and Yorkshire. The Howgills, were once described by the celebrated fell walker, Alfred Wainwright, as a herd of sleeping elephants. Approaching by road along the M6 motorway they are unmistakable when they come into view. Yet from the various peaks and hillsides walkers will be rewarded with views extending far beyond the deep valleys.

This is an ideal area for stopping off on a journey to or from Scotland. There is a variety of homely accommodation available within striking distance of the M6.
