Buttermere Accommodation

Buttermere Hotels and Bed and Breakfasts

A visit to Buttermere is principally for its natural beauty . The area offers some of the best walking country in Lakeland and the footpath around the lake is ideal for all walkers. Even young children can enjoy the easy walks which usually include a visit to Dalesgarth Farm and Syke Farm for locally made ice cream.

The small village of Buttermere is located at the north western end of the lake and the area was a favourite of the famous walker and author Alfred Wainwright. In the church of St James is a stone tablet set into the windowsill as a memorial, where his ashes were scattered.

Buttermere is packed full of quality Lake District Hotels, Lake District Guest Houses and Camping holidays.
